Competition for the five Ayrshire Scratch League titles is hotting up as the competition moves towards the final two weeks of fixtures.
In DIVISION 1, Kilmarnock (Barassie) maintained their slim title hopes with a 4.5 - 1.5 home win over West Kilbride in their latest fixture, which also effectively plunged West Kilbride back into Division 2 next season.
Irvine remain out in front at present, although they have two difficult away games remaining.
Current placings in Division 1 are :-
Remaining fixtures :- Kilmarnock Barassie Vs Irvine, Loudoun Vs Irvine Ravenspark, Loudoun Vs Irvine, Troon Welbeck Vs Loudoun, West Kilbride Vs Troon Welbeck. IN DIVISION 2, Ballochmyle's title hopes suffered a setback with a 4.5 - 1.5 defeat at Caprington.
Prestwick St Cuthbert remain out in front with two matches against Ayr Belleisle remaining to be played.
At the foot of the table, Largs and Belleisle look destined to battle it out to avoid the relegation spot.
Present positions in Division 2 are :-
Remaining fixtures :- Ardeer Vs Ballochmyle, Ayr Belleisle Vs Prestwick St Cuthbert, Largs Vs Ballochmyle, Ayr Belleisle Vs Ballochmyle, Ayr Belleisle Vs Ardeer, Largs Vs Caprington, Ballochmlye Vs Largs, Prestwick St Cuthbert Vs Ayr Belleisle IN DIVISION 3, Girvan lie just ahead of Troon St Meddans and New Cumnock in the chase for the title. Present positions in Division 3 are :-
Remaining fixtures :- Troon St Meddans Vs Girvan, KIlbirnie Place Vs Prestwick St Nicholas, Kilbirnie Place Vs Troon St Meddans, Girvan Vs Prestwick St Nicholas, KIlbirnie Place Vs New Cumnock, New Cumnock Vs Kilbirnie Place, Prestwick St Nicholas Vs Kilbirnie Place. IN DIVISION 4, Turnberry renewed ther challenge for the championship title with a 4 - 2 win at Rowallan Castle in their latest match. Maybole have a battle on their hands to avoid relegation with two fixtures still to complete. Present positions in Division 4 are :-
Remaining fixtures :- Ayr Dalmilling Vs Turnberry, Maybole Vs Tam O Shanter, Turnberry Vs Rowallan Castle, Maybole Vs Rowallan Castle, Turnberry Vs Ayr Dalmilling. In DIVISION 5, Doon Valley remain odds on to take the title with only two outstanding fixtures still to play in the division. Presnt positions in Division 5 are :-
