The Ayrshire team at the Kennedy Salver :-

Ayrshire were narrowly defeated by holders Lanarkshire recently in the annual inter county girls event for the Kennedy Salver, played at Kirkintilloch GC this year.

In the morning foursomes it was Renfrewshire and Dumbarton & Argyll who held the advantage with two points each against one for both Lanarkshire & Ayrshire, but in the afternoon singles Lanarkshire and Ayrshire dominated with four wins and a loss each, leaving the championship destination depending on the final match on the course, where Lanarkshire defeated Ayrshire to retain the trophy.

The final positions were :-

6 pts - Lanarkshire
5 pts - Ayrshire
4 pts - Renfrewshire
3 pts - Dumbarton & Argyll

The Ayrshire team was :- Rachel Irvine (Capt), Hazel McGarvie, Lauren Gilbert, Alexandra Brown, Gilliam Love & Sophie Love.
