In week 4 of the West Of Scotland Inter County A League, Ayrshire were narrowly beaten by Glasgow at Cathkin Braes.

Malcolm Pennycott of Ayrshire fought back from 2 down against David Curtis to win at the last and maintain his 100% record for matches played this season, but the crucial result for Glasgow was delivered by John Lawrie who was three down with three to play against John Shanks but managed to secure a half match to give Glasgow a narrow win in the match.

Gordon Miller (Cawder) beat Stuart Robin (Prestwick St Nicholas) by 4 & 3

Andy Fairbairn (Cawder) lost to Scott Brown (Turnberry) by 2 & 1

John Lawrie (Glasgow) halved with John Shanks (Irvine)

Barry Hume (Haggs Castle) beat Gordon Boyle (Turnberry) by 4 & 3

Fraser Grant (Ralston) lost to Gary Bryden (Girvan) by 1 hole

David Curtis (Cathkin Braes) lost to Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) by 1 hole

Martin Lamb (Cawder) beat Barrie McDonnell (Caprington) by 2 & 1

Stuart Black (Cathcart Castle) beat Steven Stamper (Turnberry) by 1 hole
